Jose', Jose', Porque, Porque?
By Jose Reyes 2/20/05"
Why, Jose, why
did you let everyone down, especially the Cuban-American community. We loved
you, we bragged about you, how you smashed those "Moon Shots", how you were
the only
player to reach the 40-40 club, porque Jose? Look
at you now, writing a book about how you administered steroids to McGuire,
Giambi, Palmiero, Gonzalez, Rodriguez, why?
A
tell-all book on steroid use in Baseball ranging from the late 80's to the late
90's, during his whole career, when he played for the A's, the Rangers, the Red
Sox, the Yankees, the Blue Jays, the Devil Rays, A's again, and the White Sox.
Look at the cover of the book, it's like he's proud
about it, how he became "The Man", the big steroid pusher in baseball.
I don't get it, why would he want to degrade himself so much, like he really
needs to, porque? Could it be that he got blackballed by Major League Baseball
and nobody wanted him to play and get his 500 homeruns so he could make the Hall
of Fame? I got news for Jose,
even if he had hit 500 plus Homeruns, I would still not place him there, and now, I
wouldn't even think about it, with all the "Cheating" that has
surfaced. If Jose
had worked out more instead of injecting himself in the butt, he would of had a better chance. "The Steroid King" should had
been the title of this so-called "Best Seller". Being Cuban-American,
I'm kind of hurt, but not shaken because when it comes to any sport, I don't
care what color, religion, or race the athlete is. Professional sports is all
about incredible physical abilities, how the athlete dedicates his or her life
to hard physical training regiments, year round, to perform at there best. Let's
not forget, these athletes
have been involved in their particular sport, since
they were 5 years old, they should be compensated for this, the competition is unyielding. For this reason, we cheer these players and give them standing ovations.
When Jose was hitting those bombs and stealing all those bases I was excited,
wow! Now we are finding out that so many Baseball players were taking steroids,
I don't know what to do with baseball in general, my interest is diminishing
rather quickly. I don't trust any player anymore. I think the whole problem in
Major League Baseball is money, these players are making too much and they are
just average.
I guess we, the so-called "Baseball Fans" are not
knowledgeable enough, maybe we should learn more about the past, maybe now that
we see how phony these "Cheaters" are, we can appreciate the
"Real" Hall of Famers like Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Ted Williams,
Frank Robinson, Babe Ruth and so on. I'm a Yankee fan and I have steroid users
on my team, how should I react? I'm going to react like a true "Baseball
Fan", I'm going to BOO them off the field. I will demand a new league,
"The Non-Steroid League", why not? Baseball is getting like the
"World Wrestling Association" it's fake, what a shame. For me to trust a
baseball player now, would be if the MLB would test each and every player at
least 3 times, during the season and twice in the off season. They would
have to take 2 samples of blood not urine like they do with Olympic athletes, one for immediate
testing and save the other vile, just in case if they learn of another
"New" steroid, so they can retest this vile to see if the athlete was
administering it during the actual testing.
So, Porque Jose?, why did you write this book? I think it's because of jealousy. He is jealous that all the players mentioned in the book are going to become Hall of Famers and he won't. He figured they owe him, well he owes all the baseball fans a big apology, they all do. Baseball is in shambles, everyone says, or is it really baseball that is in shambles? I think baseball is a total monopoly of the players themselves, the players association, control everything. Money, money, money. Come on baseball fans, get involved, show that you care, protest the steroid takers, BOO them! I personally would like and will lobby for Major League Baseball to make available, to the public, all records of players tested for steroids throughout the whole year, now that random testing is in affect. We, the Baseball fans must bring the game back to normality, we have the power, that is our right. Let's do it for these guys:
Say Hey! "Let's Save Baseball"
